Lacquer Art is a special type of design made by hand using different colors painted sequentially over at a piece in layers. Once the paint dries, an artisan mastering in lacquer art, scribes a design over the final layer of paint using a knife, which reveals the underlying vibrant color resulting in a beautiful color pattern forming on the piece.  The finished piece is later treated with surface and paint hardeners, which increases the life of the paint as well as the wood.
